Grey Beaver, a lesser chief within the Arapaho tribe occupied lands between the upper Arkansas River in Eastern Colorado and the Headwaters of he River Platte to the Rockies in Eastern Wyoming. At 43 his life was well past its zenith and he knew he would not see many more years. But life was changing, each year more white settlers arrrived, bringing disease, waste and taking the food. The buffalo were disappearing and each winter the tribe had less to survive on. Truely he could not remember a more distrubing time, and as he watches the passing wagons he wonders that when the wagons stop what the world will have to offer his people.
